Kyle's New Bed

Kyle's new bed arrived in the mail this week. Grandpa T built it and Kyle and I spent Saturday afternoon putting it together. As you can see, it fits him perfectly. His new bed has an elephant on one end and a lion on the other, the elephant is currently showing in honor of one of his favorite toys.

Kyle had a pretty relaxed weekend, nothing too crazy and no new tricks. we did take some time today to clean up the camper, looks like the season is drawing to a close for camping this fall.

Here is the movie of the day for Kylie-boy. This was his first roll-over in his new bed. He is very pleased with his new crib and is very thankful that Grandpa made it for him!

I love my mush!

Well Kyle is starting to enjoy the cereal. We've started to thicken' it up now, so it is actually like cereal and not just milk on a spoon. He's growing like a weed as well, he's outgrown his first box of baby clothes. he's having a pretty good week, all though at this very moment he isn't too keen on going to bed.

Here is a new trick, trying to link to video hosting site. This will probably work for you folks with a high speed DSL or cable modem. The link below is to Dropshots.com where we are posting our videos. Please let me know with some comments if this works for you. There are several videos that I am sprinkling into the blog, sseveral over the past few months - enjoy!

Are We Done Driving Yet?

Kyle just got done with his longest drive ever. We drove over to Winthrop WA for a Mountain Biking Festival and vacation with a bunch of friends for a long weekend. We logged well into the upper 500 miles this weekend. Kyle did great, he even slept through the night in the camper for the 1st and 2nd times this weekend. We had a great time, both mom and dad got to do some biking, and the panoramic views were beautiful.

The Western side of the Cascade mountain range is very brown and rolling, but the mountains in Winthrop are rugged too. We stayed at a state campground outside of Winthop, it was very quiet all weekend - except for the heavy machinery working on remodeling the campsites next to ours. The campground was overflowing with deer, we could hear them walking around in the fallen leaves around the camper at night. They were so close to us that Kelly was able to take pictures of them just by standing outside of the trailer. We could also hear/see ducks and geese as they were passing through the area.

We were pretty busy shuttling back and forth for all the biking activities, but we also had lots of time to kick back and relax. Plus all our friends enjoyed playing with Kyle. He was his usual charming self for most of the trip. Kyle also took every opportunity to roll over. His new favorite activity is to spin from his back to his belly, he even likes to do that while in our arms. He is also giving rolling over lessons, see the guide below...

Rolling Over; Step 1...

Rolling Over; Step 2...

It won't be long before he is rolling over to get from one spot to another. And as you might be able to see, Kyle wore his Minnesota Twins outfit that Uncle Chad got for him. He (Kyle) was hoping wearing the shirt would bring them good luck, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. Better luck next year Uncle Chad.

Another big step for Kyle has been the start of solid foods. That's right, rice cereal! We tried for the first time about a week ago and he seemed to do OK with it. He did end up wearing some of it, but not bad for the first time. The pictures show how he looked before and after.

Then we tried again a few days later and he wasn't as interested and didn't take too much of it-most of it ended up everywhere but his mouth! We tried again tonight and he once again did pretty good. We'll have to start doing it every day so that he can get the hang of the whole eating thing.

Next up-a trip back home to see the grandmas and grandpas and all the aunts and uncles! Should be lots of fun!!!
