Kyle's Room - The place to come for all the news that's fit to print. Which is pretty much everything when you're only a couple days/weeks/months old.

Good to Be Back Home

We got about 3 inches of snow at our house last night, thought that was a good opportunity to go sledding for the first time. Kyle had a ball, he was laughing the whole time. He also liked it when we picked up the pace, he sure seems to like the snow. We'll get him on a snowboard tomorrow if the conditions are ok!!!

Here's Mom and Kyle sitting by the fireplace. Kyle is just lounging around the house in his jogging pants & and sweatshirt today, what a slacker!

Now that Dad's back home things are a little bit more sane around the house for Mom, not much, but a little. Kylie-boy has started crawling, he's doing a modified Army crawl. He's able to get around the living room pretty quickly, although he gets stuck every once and a while when he get's a hand caught underneath his chest. He's been a pretty happy baby during the day but he's been pretty unpredictable at night. Not so unpredictable I guess, we know that he's not going to sleep all night, it's just a question of when and how many times he is going to get up between 9PM and 6AM. He keeps us on our toes and he's just getting started. He celebrated 9 months on the planet last week, time is flying by!!!

We've started trying some tasty pureed chicken for dinner with Kyle, not so good. I think we're going to stick with bananas for awhile!

Here are some recent pictures...

Weekend Fun

Dad had some fun over the weekend, visiting many sights in Seoul, South Korea. Among many things some of the notables were visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace which was the historical home to the Korean royalty and was initially built in 1385...

We then spent the day visiting different historical areas of the city, visiting several shopping districts and even finding time for a beer or two...

We finished the night with a visit to Seoul tower which overlooks the entire city. The city is huge and the tower offerred fantastic views on a clear and cold night...

So after a busy Saturday, we started Sunday with a visit to the National Museum which has only been open for about 1 year. The museum is very nice, filled with artifacts detailing the history of Korea (North & South) and many interesting displays. After this visit it was off to the Seoul Station to catch the train back out to the country in time for work tomorrow. A few more days of kimchi (not bad actually) and it will be back on the plane and time to head back home.

Here is a picture from inside the museum and the view from my hotel room.

That's about it for now!

Busy Month(s)!

We've had a busy month! After a busy trip home for Christmas and house-hunting we made a quick turn-around in Seattle. We spent barely 2 weeks back there before we packed up our car and packed up our things for the drive cross-country to our new home in Wisconsin. We had reasonably good roads and a safe trip, taking about 3.5 days to get all the way to the Lakeshore.

After closing on our new home and then getting our stuff moved in it was soon time to get to some wallpaper removal and painting. 3 weeks later, we've got one room done!!!! Dad was also off for his first work trip too soon after moving in, so Mom and Kyle are busy finishing up the unpacking and learning the ins and outs of the new house. Dad did get out of town just in time to avoid the negative 15-25 degree temperatures!!! Mom & Fred have seen the first birds at the feeder, so it won't be long before we are filling the feeder(s) every day - hopefully!

Kyle has been passing all this time by being very irreglar with his sleep schedule, excessive drooling and sprouting teeth. He's been working on his upper left front tooth, it's been about 25% out for about 2 weeks, so some good progress. He's also been getting up on all fours and standing with a bit of help for balance, but he is doing fantastic. He should be crawling very soon, or he might just start walking, it's tough to call right now.

So we still have quite a bit to do, but that's just fine. We're looking forward to getting things settled down a bit so we could relax and enjoy our new home and maybe even squeeze in a trip up North in the next few weeks.
